UNECE R100
As the automotive industry moves towards more electrification, it’s critical that your hybrid or electric vehicles gain UNECE Regulation 100 (R100) Type Approval.
HORIBA MIRA’s certification team provides comprehensive vehicle level testing for the full range of vehicle categories. Everything from trucks and buses to passenger cars. Including UNECE R100 testing on retro-fit electric vehicles. So, for example, we can support you in upcycling your commercial fleet to provide a cleaner, more cost-effective solution to fleet replacement.
We can run complete testing at HORIBA MIRA’s world-class proving ground in Nuneaton, or at a site of your choice. This means we can provide testing anywhere in the world. All without the need for a separate third party witness.
As well as vehicle level testing and approval, we’re also a technical service for electric vehicle battery type approval. We have extensive experience of testing battery packs to global standards, including testing cells, modules and battery packs to section 38.3 of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria. So, in partnership with our component test facility in Basildon, we can provide a turnkey type approval service against UNECE R100 for both the REESS and its installation in the vehicle.
In short, we’re your one-stop shop for all R100 testing and type approval.
In January 2024, HORIBA MIRA became the first testing organisation in the UK to achieve UKAS ISO 17025 Compliance for R100.03 Part 1.
This independently verified accreditation confirms our strong technical competence and working practices. Supported by our robust ISO 9001 quality management system, it enables us to provide reliable Electrical Safety testing of both new and retrofitted EVs.
