It’s a privilege to be recognised alongside such inspiring individuals in the industry. At HORIBA MIRA, we are committed to creating a workplace where our people feel valued, supported, and empowered, and I’m incredibly proud of the work we do to build an inclusive and engaged team. It’s particularly rewarding to see how our initiatives, such as promoting STEM opportunities for disadvantaged young people, and supporting Armed Forces veterans, have not only strengthened our team but also positively impacted our broader community.
Shani Roberts has designed and led several multi-company programmes to promote skills, work experience and employment opportunities to a diverse range of local young people – increasing job prospects and skills, and enabling employers on the MIRA Technology Park to engage with those early in their career. Shani was also recognised for her work in establishing numerous skills partnerships for HORIBA MIRA, enabling training and development programmes to reach a broader audience.
Commenting on her award win, Shani said:
I’m delighted to be recognised as part of Autocar’s Drivers of Change awards, it’s been a privilege to lead initiatives that open doors for young people. By working closely with local schools, employers, and not-for-profits, we’ve been able to deliver programmes that not only enhance skills and career prospects but also build lasting connections between businesses and the next generation of talent. I’m so proud to be part of a community within HORIBA MIRA that promotes this.
Simon Gresty was recognised for his work developing a strong global team in a complex and technical field in the automotive industry. He has demonstrated new approaches, processes and technologies to efficiently deliver for our customers, whilst supporting significant inclusion and diversity of the team, spanning age groups, gender, social backgrounds, nationalities and cultures.
