MIRA Targets European Growth in Partnership With Creative Data
MIRA Ltd and Creative Data AG have signed a memorandum of understanding that will see the two engineering businesses collaborate on future vehicle projects for original equipment manufacturers and tier 1 suppliers with operations in Germany.
The alliance extends MIRA’s geographic reach in Continental Europe and expands Hürth-based Creative Data’s offer to its customers – enabling it to provide product and component testing as well as full-service engineering consultancy.
Commenting on the partnership MIRA CEO Dr George Gillespie said:
“Creative Data is a good strategic fit for our business. Not only does it have a strong reputation among its customers and share our commitment to technical excellence but it also enables us to establish a foothold in the German automotive market – which saw domestic car production rise 12 per cent (to 5.5 million units) last year.”
MIRA’s turnover grew by 30 per cent in 2010 to £37 million and the business aims to increase revenue by a further 100 per cent over the next five years through a variety of tactics including a focus on overseas operations that it hopes will grow from 18 to 45 per cent.
Creative Data managing director Heinz Friebel, added:
“By combining our strengths, we are now able to offer our customers innovative test capabilities and capacity, in addition to our excellent engineering consultancy and project management services.”
MIRA’s collaboration with Creative Data is the latest of several international alliances that have augmented its offer within the last two years. These include partnerships with renowned Italian design house Torino Design and Danish noise vibration and harshness experts Brüel & Kjær.
